Emotional switch (off).

9:09:00 PM

We all wish such thing existed. I switched it off recently, after realizing a lack of excitement when being with a certain person. I also switched it off for real with a certain ghost (finally!!). How many times would we have even paid to have an emotional switch?

Imagine you meet this guy and you tell yourself no fairytales allowed in mind, you have a great time together but either one of you has to part because it is after all, a summer fling. Now where is this emotional switch? OFF.

Maybe after a couple of months you visit or receive his visit for some days so it goes ON.

On. Off. On. Off. It all looks so easy! So yes that's how it all went and after one year of this going on and off I recently realized there was no spark anymore. Do distance "flings" also have a time setter? Was this a 1hour (read 1year) Sunday afternoon movie?

When I got to my apartment here in Prague I realized there was not a single reason to keep thinking about it and give it a go, especially if it was coming to be all from my part lately. I felt like I had an emotional switch and I had just decided (unconsciously) to turn it off. Good thing is I stopped idealizing that man and saw everything really clear now. I wish I could have done so with my biggest Jdisappointment.

  1. If that switch existed the level of hypocrites would be to the roof. But on the other hand , it is a necessary switch for others to be able to fit in our shoes.
Great post, I enjoyed reading it.

  3. Aww, sounds like a tough process! Indeed it would be so easy if there was an 'off' switch but it's important to work through emotions I think.
