Boost your morning energy: chia pudding.

This summer I stayed at my cousin’s house in Mallorca for some days and we had a trip around the supermarket of course. While we were there she really jumped on every new thing on the market in the bio organic and superfoods section. That made me try some new things and made me curious about some fruit and vegetable chips, chia seeds and all you can do with those.

My cousin prepared a chia pudding which I thought would be difficult to do but ta-da! It’s done overnight and requires less than 5 min to prepare. What are chia seeds though? They are getting bigger and bigger in the healthy lifestyle of everyone. These seeds are quite tasteless so you can really play with the ingredients you want to mix with them. Also, they undergo a really cool transformation when being left inside the fridge.

These are all the beneficial things they carry, chia seeds are full of:

  • Antioxidants. Great for our cells and our skin. YAY.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids. Yes the “good” fats. Think salmon.
  • And fiber. Most of their calories are fiber.
  • Protein.
  • Calcium. 

 


This energy-booster serves as a good breakfast for those who do not want to indulge some bread or pastries. And it’s not only good for all the benefits it will bring you nutritionally speaking but also for the feeling of “fullness” it will give you so you will not end up checking the fridge as soon as you may do (guilty).

So remember the benefits:

  • healthy skin
  •  reduces signs of ageing
  •  supports the heart and digestive system
  • hydration
  •  reduces sugar cravings

All that thanks to its fiber, omega-3 fats, proteins and vitamins.

Besides, there are many delicious recipes you can do with chia seeds. Today I am trying chocolate-cinnamon chia pudding, but I have seen many I have to try soon –with pineapple, coconut, apple, cranberries…
