Blast from the past: can a mistake make you miss your fate?

These days I have been working on something I don't know if it will turn out right, but I am crossing fingers. This "project" kind of led me talking to someone I had some story with -like 6 years ago. Since there is no bad blood and things didn't end wrong enough to avoid contact (UNLIKE OTHERS) I gave it a go thinking "I don't know how he still would talk to me lol" and he replied very friendly and helping. It all made me think of what a fool I was back then. Now let me tell you why I was so wrong. I had spotted this guy before meeting him because he was oh so handsome. Then I was the luckiest girl in Belgium when he approached me in the street and started a conversation out of nowhere. We later met by chance, once, twice, three times. One talk here, one dance there, etc. (no details incl.). Fairytale you might think, until someone loses her shoe. Or mind. Too focused and worried on exams and stressed AF I went out less and less and ignored him, even left conversations unanswered. Why on earth I did that I still don't know. We only talk to each other twice a year since then, and that is, to wish the other a happy bday. After these years of course I am not expecting anything, but now I just wish this "project" works out and I get to see him for a bit, a chance to spend some time to catch up (while torturing myself thinking of what could have been with Mr. Handsome). Like Carrie Bradshaw said, can you make a mistake and miss your fate?

I guess we will continue making mistakes along the way and still have sleepless "what ifs" nights. Now everything was going on great regarding this project and when I got more excited, it got stuck somehow and other options came up. I am trying to ignore those, but what if I am meant to opt for the choice my boss suggests and leave the one I have in mind so stubbornly?

Carrie answered her doubts in that same SATC episode: "maybe our mistakes are what make our fate". Still...can you wish me well and cross fingers too so everything works out and I feel a little bit better?

  1. Wow... I've thought about this before. But I think it's best to live in the present rather than the "what if" ... I hope everything works out for you!!

  3. Always best to live in the present, otherwise you could go through a whole slew of "well if this happened then this could have happened" everything will work out as it should. Best of luck to you!

  7. Oh dear Lau. I think that is the thing that bothers us all, what if? Do we do our own choices or it's written in the stars. But luckily for me I came to a new knowledge it says: we do make our own choices, there will be no pi t in anything if God was responsible for oir choices. He only helps that our designs fall into place. So think of now and what is that you need and want, and ask God to give whats the best for you! The best of luck, I send you my love. Xxx
